{Farmlife Fragments} Goat Less

Yesterday our last goat went to her new home. We loaded Nancy into a dog kennel in the back of a truck. With a handful of pellets, you could talk Nancy into anything!

With his head tucked at his chest, in a tiny voice, Landon said, “Mama you said we could keep one goat, you promised.” I really did not promise but when we dropped Nancy to her new home he pleaded one last time, “Please can we keep Nancy?”

I really don’t think there is a better place Nancy, our final goat, could have ended up. I am glad we were able to see her new home. She will be so loved and so happy. The little girl held a kitty in her arms and held Addi’s hand as she showed us her brand new baby lamb. Nancy followed us and helped herself to the sheep pellets.

Although this morning was a little quieter on the farm, with no goats calling for breakfast, I am happy they all went to new homes where I really think they will be well-taken care of.

On Friday, with the help of his son, a sweet elderly man bardered for my last five wethers! He could barely walk, but he seemed thrilled to add these five to his herd.
