The kitchen is where we unplug and over eggs and butter we connect.
Landon and I made carrot cake cupcakes, with almond flour (yum !). It was a big night because he cracked the eggs all by himself and he did a perfect job!
If you’ve hung out with a four year old than you are well aware that every single task throughout the day must be attempted by themselves. Any uninvited attempt to help or even a flinch in their direction often results in a stern reminder that “I can do it by myself.” Many of the tasks they attempt end in tragic fits of disaster and frustration.
But tonight he succeeded and we were so proud!
Over shredded carrots and paper cupcake liners he said to me, “Mama do you know how many children I am going to have?”
Trying to hide my grinning heart I replied, “No, buddy how many?”
“Five!”
“Oh, I think you will be an amazing daddy. I am excited to watch you be a daddy.”
I asked him what special things he might want to teach his children.
He said, “To make cupcakes. Lots of cupcakes everyday and to love animals.”
